Breast Cancer Awareness

With breast cancer being the most common cancer in females it’s very important to spread awareness no matter how small or big, with regard to our event it was most certainly big!  We started planning the event early brainstorming cleaver ideas that the MSA has not seen before. The members were well involved and had a big say in the event. We set up two booths, in each of the male and female sections, the booth was a huge success having the support of a handful of sponsors providing; sandwiches, gelato, cupcakes, cookies and fresh juice. Not to mention the huge success of the free gym classes coordinated by our sponsor NuYu arranged by Yasmin which resulted in very positive feedback from the participants and offered 7000 Saudi Riyals to help fund the event. Moreover, we had our members teach the public with accurate medical breast cancer models on how to conduct a breast cancer self-examination. As expected with the MSA’s standards, the booth was very well decorated with a great abundance of the pink awareness colour of breast cancer, we ran the booth for two days and on the third day we set up a human size breast cancer ribbon with pink hijabs and pink T-shirts (sponsor). Overall, we were very impressed with the outlook of the event, however if we were to improve one thing it would be greater stress on punctuality towards our sponsors and members as there were a couple instances where some of our plans arrived late and were not as effective as we planned them to be.
